tsunagu — to connect

When different things meet, new value is born.

Japan has a long history of receiving culture and technology from abroad — and, rather than simply adopting them, developing them with its own sensibility into something new.

Hiragana is one of the clearest symbols of that creativity. Born in Japan from Chinese characters, it evolved into a script of its own.

A single hiragana has no particular meaning. But when characters connect, they become words, and words carry meaning, emotion and story. Their soft, beautiful curves are not only a tool of language, but also a design with a charm all of their own.

We see hiragana not just as letters, but as a symbol that connects different cultures, values and people.

Through hiragana, we express Japanese creativity with a contemporary sensibility — and create new value together with people around the world. That is the philosophy of HIRAGANA.

From HIRAGANA, to the world. New value, starting here.

What we are building

HIRAGANA does not exist only to sell clothes. We want to become a platform where different kinds of creativity meet, under the shared symbol of hiragana.

Co-designed pieces with artists around the world, limited collaborations with companies, products inspired by local cultures and place names — beginning with apparel, and growing into bags, accessories and everyday goods.

HIRAGANA does not have to create every design itself. We want to connect cultures and talents, and give rise to new forms of expression.
